Patti Thomas's family has been in the construction business for nearly 60 years. She grew up learning what it took to be successful in the industry, while watching her father and then her sister build reputable careers in the Western New York area. Her father, Robert Mariacher, started a construction company in the 1950’s. One notable project from this time was the construction of the Observation Tower at Niagara Falls. He was instrumental in developing many of the light industrial buildings in the Gardenville area of Cheektowaga. All the Mariacher children spent weekends “checking jobs” with dad. Patti's sister, Mickey Mariacher, is the Director of Construction Management for Kaleida Health and has overseen construction of $750 million in new projects.
Patti has spent many years managing the career and brand of her husband, Pro Football Hall of Famer, Thurman Thomas. She now brings her management and relationship-building skills to the family business. Her strengths include public and private endorsements, appearances, and charitable endeavors. Patti gives great care to establishing and nurturing the many relationships, both personal and professional, that have been instrumental in hers and Thurman’s many successes. This carries through now to her role as CEO of 34 Group. In addition to raising 4 children, Patti is very active in her community and an ardent supporter of her hometown, Buffalo, New York.
